![]() Thank you, and I hope you play it through. Sorry for such a long message I just needed to get that off my chest somehow. And yet its design, story, pace, moved me like very few books, movies, or series have in the past. I love the game I bought it this morning and played it through and it is now my favorite game by far. Firewatch is leaving Gamepass so I had to play it (it was in my backlog for ages). It is a 'bad end' in the sense that this story was never meant to happen because of a 'bad choice' made earlier then when we take full control of the main character. ![]() And it is because the decision making in this game is so well done and if you truly go off what you would do, you just get lost in it. Exactly, the ending isnt 'fun', but it is the perfect end for a tale about a man trying to avoid responsibilities in maybe not the healthiest way. I felt almost like I had to take time and I don’t think I could ever play it a second time, because I am so content with how I feel. I dont think an ending being subversive or surprising inherently makes it a good ending. And if I had the chance I would have the longest conversation with the developers of this game Bc that’s how much it captivated me in its story and honestly made me feel a way no other game has. Despite what others may say I think it’s so well done in fact, I felt so emotional to a point where my own emotions of my personal life was kind of dragged in. I’m sad to see everything the characters go through, the ending is good. For roughly the first half of Firewatch, the in-game days unfurl languorously in a kind of stupor-inducing routine. I just finished the game an hour and a half a go and I am still dwelling on the game. And this game has done something for me that no other game has. Personally, I have played a lot of games in my life.
